We are VI Strong!
Stories of Hope, Heroes, and Helpers!
Here’s the story of Caribbean Sea Adventures!
St Croix, USVI
On any given day you can find us on a charter boat, leading snorkel tours, showing tourists our beautiful island…but today and everyday since Hurricane Irma impacted our sister islands of St Thomas and St John with devastating force, we are relief workers!
Our wonderful island of St Croix was spared the full force of the hurricane, but we knew just 22 miles to the north the communities of St Thomas and St John were destroyed by the 185 mph winds and driving rains, the residents of those islands were cut off, ports were closed, the airport wasn’t operational, they needed help, and we were their only hope!
Soon after the storm had passed we began to gather supplies at the dock, teams of volunteers lined up to help move cases of water, food, and much needed supplies, our boat was in place to begin making the journey across! We had no idea what we would find over there, but we the reports we were getting was that it was bad, really bad!
There was no time for tears, we had to be brave in the face of fear! We began running daily trips, we fought the exhaustion, the wind, the waves, the heat…we pressed on for the greater good, because in the end we knew we were making a difference!
Most people think I was named for the state, but it’s not true. I was named for a battle ship. The U.S.S. Arizona. My grandfather was serving on the Arizona when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, and he saved 19 men before he drowned. Pretty much everything my father did his whole life was about honoring that sacrifice. I was raised to be a good man in a storm. Raised me to love my country. To love my family. To protect the things I love. -Dr Arizona Robbins
